Project Background
The homeowners struggled with an uneven, sloped yard that limited their outdoor activities. They needed a permanent structural solution to level the ground, manage water runoff, and create a functional backyard that didn't require constant weekend upkeep.

For this Maple Ridge property, our main focus was engineering robust retaining walls alongside a custom patio installation. The new wall system provides critical soil retention and structural support, while the flat patio delivers a clean, low-maintenance surface for everyday entertaining. It’s a practical hardscaping build designed for long-term daily use.

Engineered Soil Retention
The sloping terrain required a heavy-duty timber retaining wall to prevent erosion, safely holding back the earth and stabilizing the upper property line.
Level Patio Construction
We excavated and compacted a deep gravel base before laying premium pavers, ensuring the new high-traffic entertainment area will never settle or shift.
Subsurface Drainage System
Behind every solid wall is a great drainage plan. We installed proper weeping tile and clear crush gravel to redirect rainwater completely away from the structure.
Integrated Woodwork & Privacy
To complement the heavy stonework and retaining walls, we built and integrated sturdy cedar framing to enhance backyard privacy and property zoning.
